    COBB AccessPORT for 2009 Mazdaspeed3

COBB Tuning announces the immediate availability of the AccessPORT for the 2009 Mazdaspeed3. The AccessPORT is the first hand-held device available for the 2009 Mazdaspeed3 that performs an ECU reflash through the vehicle’s OBDII port. Just plug it in, load the new V1.03 maps and go! Faster!

The AccessPORT provides owners of 2009 Mazdaspeed3 vehicles the ability to unlock power hidden within the factory ECU. Performance gains across the entire powerband can be quickly realized in the short time it takes to flash the vehicle’s ECU with the AccessPORT. No tools are required. No additional “piggy-back” hardware. No mailing the factory ECU across the country. No vehicle downtime. No waiting. Just plug the AccessPORT in, flash the ECU and enjoy the thrill of increased torque and horsepower!

Flashing the ECU for increased performance is just the start of what the AccessPORT is capable of. Set the AccessPORT to Performance mode to capture 0-60MPH times, ¼ Mile times and Trap Speeds. Switch over to Live Data and choose a gauge to monitor, such as; air/fuel ratio, intake air temperature, throttle position, spark advance, wastegate duty, MAF voltage, boost and many more. Turn on the new Datalogging feature and capture data across mutiple channels while you drive for detailed analysis of your engine’s performance. Use the Troubleshooting mode to diagnose issues by reading the factory codes and resetting the system once the issues have been resolved.

The AccessPORT can be used to eliminate separation anxiety for those times you are away from your car. Protect your investment when out on the town by quickly loading the Valet map to prevent the engine from revving above 3,200 rpm. Load the Anti-Theft map when you park to make it impossible to start. And in the event the car must be returned to the stock configuration, the AccessPORT can be completely removed and the ECU restored to its factory condition.

The AccessPORT from COBB Tuning is the most comprehensive hand-held ECU flashing, monitoring and managing device available for the 2009 Mazdaspeed3. Satisfy your hunger for more power. Access the Potential of your Mazdaspeed3 today!

If U take care, it will take care of U.

    Operating and Storage Temperatures

The AccessPORT is designed to be operated at temperatures between 32° and 95° F (0° and 35° C) and with a relative humidity below 90%. Using the AccessPORT outside of these recommendations may result in damage.
When storing the AccessPORT, do so in a place where temperature is always between 0° and 115° F (-20° and 45° C) and with a relative humidity below 90%. Never store your AccessPORT in an area that receives direct sunlight.

    Do Not Get Wet

Take care to prevent any liquids from coming in contact with the AccessPORT or any associated equipment. In the event your AccessPORT, or associated equipment, gets wet you may need to send it in for service. Please contact technical support BEFORE attempting to use the AccessPORT.
    Handling and Storage

You AccessPORT may be damaged by improper storage or handling. Be careful not to drop your AccessPORT or any associated parts. Never store your AccessPORT in an area that experiences any noticeable levels of vibration, static electricity, heat shock, or excessive swings in relative humidity.

    Do Not Attempt Repairs Yourself

Never attempt to open your AccessPORT or any associated equipment. Doing so puts the components at risk of damage from, but not limited to, static shock. No user-serviceable parts are inside. At no time will ANY authorized representative of COBB Tuning, Inc. ask you to open or mechanically/electronically alter the AccessPORT.

Opening the AccessPORT will void any and all warranties for the device and its operation.

Let see what he did in his own words.

    1. Tried installing streettuner on laptop #1, and got error trying to connect to device
    2. Tried installing streettuner on laptop #2, and got error trying to connect to device
    3. Tried installing streettuner on laptop #1 with usb-serial connector, and got error trying to connect
    4. Called Cobb, they told me it was my computer (didnt believe them, but whatever), and then they told me to call my computer tech support.
    5. Called computer tech support, and they couldn’t find any reason why the COM ports wouldn’t be working
    6. Retried both laptops
    7. Tried Desktop computer… same error.
At this point I have now spent like 2.5 hours on this crap. I just want it installed.
    8. I go out to my car and try reflashing my ECU, and the AP says.. “Initializing . . . . . .” then tells me to turn off, and back on. Then says “Initializing . . . . . ” then turn off and back on. Then says “Initializing . . . . . ” Then turn off and back on…

This Problem is Faced By Many Users. If anyone face this kind of Problem Use The Process given below, it may help.

    COBB AccessPORT Installation (Reference Subaru)

    Pre-Installation

The AccessPORT comes with the most up-to-date software and map files available at the time of shipment. However, it is possible that updated software and/or map files have been made available since the time of shipment. Therefore, the recommended procedure is to connect the AccessPORT to the AP Manager software and download the latest software and map files for the target vehicle.

    Getting Started

    1. Insert the key into the vehicle’s ignition and leave it in the OFF position.

    2. Locate the Test Mode connectors. Impreza and Forester models will have this located under the driver’s side dash to the left of the steering column. The Legacy and Outback models will have this located on the passenger side. With the connectors located, enable Test Mode by plugging the two
    connectors into each other.

    3. Connect the small end of the provided USB cable to the mini-USB port on the back of the OBD connector.

    4. Plug the OBD connector into the vehicle’s OBD-II port.

    5. Plug the large end of the USB cable into the standard USB port on the underside of your AccessPORT. At this point the AccessPORT will power up and present the installation menu after approximately 20-30 seconds

    6. Select [Install] from the AccessPORT menu by pressing the [OK] button to proceed with installation. Below is a diagram of the AccessPORT’s keypad function.

    Port Signs

    IMPORTANT!

Before installing the AccessPORT on the vehicle, it is important to verify that the vehicle is adequately prepared for the installation process. Since the AccessPORT uses the vehicle’s battery for power and the ECU reprogramming process requires adequate battery power as well, it is critical to verify that the vehicle’s battery has a good charge. This can be done through the use of a battery charger/conditioner or by driving the vehicle for a period of time prior to installation to allow the alternator to recharge the battery. Furthermore, please ensure that all in-car electronic devices are turned off to reduce power draw on the battery. This includes car stereos, video screens, GPS units, radar detectors, interior and exterior vehicle lights, and any other electronic device that uses the car battery for power.
